Vaida's work is reminiscent of the style promoted by Gustav Stickley during the "Arts & Crafts" movement. Born of the Industrial Revolution, Stickley encouraged a return to hancrafted designs that show the labor of the craftsman. Vaida's work would be right at home in an Arts & Crafts, Craftsman, Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie or Mission Style home, but in today's world of eclectic decorating it would add a bold statement to any room. |

Photos don't really do justice to these one-of-a-kind copper sculptures by Colorado and Bay Area artist Jamie Vaida. Vaida has spent years perfecting his striking new style: creating beautiful, often functional, pieces of art from recycled metals. He begins simply, with discarded metal, often from a scrap yard. He looks for beauty and shape in a given piece in its raw form, then twists and bends the copper to bring out the full potential hidden within that shape.
